We recently launched this website with the goal of providing resources on resilience and its role in healthy lives. We hope you find it useful.
Riverview Resilient (R2) started in 2018 with a team of people from schools and organizations in Duvall and Carnation. We were concerned about the difficulties faced by many of our youth, and excited about the positive impact that a culture of resilience could provide as youth try to navigate through life challenges.
Our first task was to introduce the concepts of resilience to the community. Thanks to funding provided by Premera Health, we hosted a series of educational events in the spring of 2019, and were impressed with the level of community interest.
In June, five team members attended the “Beyond Paper Tigers” conference. The experience deepened our own understanding of resilience as well as our commitment to this approach.
We are now ready to expand the reach of Riverview Resilient – through outreach to the schools, educational opportunities for the community, and the launching of this website, where you will find resources on resilience-based strategies as well as a listing of local opportunities to foster community connections. A strong community network is essential to the wellbeing of every community member, and a basic component of resilience.
We are excited about the positive outcomes that these practices can have on our community, and we welcome your participation! If you would like to get involved in Riverview Resilient, or have questions or comments to share, please contact us.
